Early 20th century Zuni tribal people Native Ame ri can vintage fully beaded Native female figure miniature dolls, carrying pots on their heads & infants in papooses on their backs. 4 3/4" Height x 1 5/8" Width x 1 Depth. For sale is this very clean and well preserved, early to mid 20th century Zuni tribal people Southwest Unit ed St ates fully beaded miniature doll of a Zuni Native woman carrying an infant in a papoose on her back and at the same time, balancing a hand decorated ceramic pot on the top of her head. The figure's made of small, round, opaque glass beads that are affixed to a soft, stuffed cloth body.

The Zuni female figure's accurately portrayed with clearly very familiar and more than just topical, casual references to the very detailed clothing and characteristic of the Zuni women, to balance their equally famous, hand decorated ceramic pots on their heads. Their brightly colored clothing, front apron and white and black leather and fur boots are all incredibly and accurately realized, with what amounts to be no less than masterful Native beadwork. The figure only stands 4 3/4 in overall height but is packed with culturally accurate, significant, detailed information about the Zuni Native women it portrays. Honest, original, authentic and made by Native Zuni hands. Very Good to Excellent overall vintage condition.
