Vintage Native American Northern California Hupa Beaded Bag Shell Tassels
For sale is a vintage personalized beaded bag depicting the iconic "end of trail" design. The bag is beaded on one side only and has long tassles/fringe with nuts? And shells at the bottom of the bag. The bag is lined with fabric inside and has a 38 woven leather strap.
The beadwork appears all intact without loss, and is surrounded by flat abalone beads and black beads on the sides. The bag itself measures approximately 7 3/4" in length x 8 1/2" in width. Measured with the tassles the bag is approximately 18 in length. The bag is missing 3 tassles and is fully functional or could be displayed.
My guess is that this bag was made in the 1960's - 1980's. Contact me if you have any questions.
