Small Lazy-Stitch Beaded Paint Bag, Southern Cheyenne
Small Lazy-Stitch Beaded Paint Bag, Southern Cheyenne. Featuring six horizontal bands of lazy-stitch beadwork around the bottom of the bag and a vertical row extending above, along both edges. The front and back beaded panels are decorated with the same simple geometric patterns, on a white background.

One side has four dark blue step-sided triangles and on the opposite side these are done in medium green. All of these triangles have a greasy-yellow rectangle with a red inset. The pairs of triangles are connected by a red cross, with two turquoise beads at the center.

Both vertical bands are also done in white and each is decorated with two rectangles of dark blue and greasy-yellow beads. Blue beads also decorate the perimeter edge around the opening at the top. The bag is made from light honey-brown leather with narrow fringes of uniform length along the bottom. A thin leather strip is attached to secure the opening and two blue beads are strung above the knotted tips.
