Nestoria Coriz Santo Domingo Kewa Natural Wampum Bead Necklace 25.5

This natural wampum bead necklace has been beautifully crafted by well known Santo Domingo artist Nestoria Coriz. It measures 25 1/2" long and has a 4.5" extender chain. I have a photo of Nestoria's business card that my friend gave me with the necklaces. This necklace is in great vintage condition.

Nestoria Coriz is a master Kewa (Santo Domingo) Pueblo artist renowned for her intricate, multi-strand necklaces. Taught by her grandparents since age six, she expertly combines traditional stonework techniques with contemporary designs, often using turquoise, spiny oyster, coral, and hand-rolled heishi beads. Nestoria creates every component herself by hand, from the heishi beads and silverwork to the distinctive drop pendants that make each necklace a complete work of art. Most of these pawn shops and trading posts are now closed. The Native American would pawn his jewelry for immediate cash.
