This is a very unique Native American Beaded Animal Fetish, and was handmade in the United States. Tribal affiliation is unknown but possibly from central or southern plains. 6-1/2" long, 3-1/2" wide and 2 thick. Note unique box beading with three rows on two sides of the box; symmetrically stitched on both sides of the creature's back. These elements culturally may represent eyes, crickets, or brush huts The Arapaho, Alfred L. Kroeber, 1907, although the true meaning is unknown and lost to antiquity. This piece includes six (6) different colors including: a rich grass green, yellow, white, royal blue, red, and brown. It also possesses unique suspended pipe stitching along its sides, with the suspensions in white beading and the piping in royal blue beading. This is a very unique piece of Native American artwork. This intricately beaded piece may hold cultural significance within the Native American community, showcasing traditional craftsmanship and artistic skill.
