Handmade Native American Indian Style Beaded Bag with Fringe, Long, Excel Cond

Here is a handmade Native Amercian Indian style beaded bag. It is listed under nonnative crafts since I do not know who made it, but most likely Chippewa aka Ojibway, Ojibwe and Anishinaabe, People of the Great Lakes. It has beautiful bead work using 1930s glass beads, with bone beads, cotton lining, and long leather fringe. Please refer to pictures with rulers in inches. Condition is excellent, like new, never used.

As Native American clothing did not incorporate European-like pockets, pouches of all shapes, sizes and materials served this purpose. Pouches and bags were commonly fastened to a belt around the waist. Smaller pouches may have been worn around the neck or on the wrist. Bags that were not woven were traditionally made from tanned leather, animal bladders, and all types of furred animal hides from the mole to the bear. Pouches could contain foodstuff, smoking supplies, medicine, fire-starting equipment, ammunition and other small tools and supplies used by men and women.
