The piece consists of brain tanned hide and sinew sewn. The entire front side of the bag is covered in glass trade seed beads. The piece has a light white background with design in colors of white, red, blue and green. It is embellished with fluffs of feathers and stuffed with sage.
The artist is Charles Chief Eagle, Pine Ridge Lakota Sioux. (deceased) See photo of artist. Bag itself: 4 1/4" tall x 6" wide.With side fluffs: 7 1/2 wide. The piece is in excellent condition with little to no bead loss, soft hide and clean fabric. Charles was a featured artist in my gallery and came to Chicago for our show in the early 1990s.
