I've been getting a lot of cancellations after the sale. This is a beaded sacred catlinite necklace. Each necklace is made of quality glass bead, solid brass beads and a one of a kind catlinite pendant. The pendant peices are made of solid sacred catlinite and measures 2 1/2 by 2 inches long. The catlinite was mined from my families pit at the national monument and shrine located in Pipestone Minnesota.
The length of the necklace are approximately 40 inches. The deer lace is cut extra long so you can adjust the size as desired. The necklace you see is the necklace you get.This necklace was made by Tony Monroe. A Oglala Lakota artist and fifth generation pipe maker living here in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
Catlinite (pipestone) is considered sacred. The legend goes When the world was freshly made, Unktehi the water monster fought the people and created a great flood, whose waters engulfed the lands. As for the other people who died, their red blood turned to pipestone, and created the pipestone quarry, which became sacred, as it was formed from the blood of the ancestors.
